Job Description

Your responsibilities

We are currently looking for a Plate Saw Operator to join us here at thyssenkrupp Materials UK! As the Plate Saw Operator, you will be cutting a range of products for various customers working from design drawing and adhering to tight tolerances.

Our Preston site specialises in Aerospace specific products and CNC machining, having the most impressive warehouse of all our sites. As an aerospace site, all our products need to be accurate and traceable back to us to ensure safety and accountability, so your organisational and attention to detail skills are imperative. There are lots of different areas in the warehouse for you to grow into and learn about, all with brand new resources such as machines and fork lifts. The canteen has just had a £30k refurb too!

Shift Pattern:

40 hours a week 

Mon-Fri 

Week 1: 6am-2pm.

Week 2: 2pm-10pm

 

Your main duties will include:

  • Operating the Plate Saw to a high quality and safe standard
  • Ensuring we have warehouse traceability
  • Working from drawings you will be required to accurately set various machines and produce parts to order
  • Use forklifts to gather material for the jobs and record all information on job sheets

 

Your profile

Experience, skills and knowledge:

  • Saw operating knowledge would be advantageous but training will be provided for the right candidate
  • Able to read drawings and record accurate details
  • Flexibility to help with other tasks
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Team player
  • Proactive attitude
  • Counterbalance forklift trained, ideally 4 way
