Job Description

Your responsibilities

We have an exciting vacancy available for an Inventory Planner to be based at Milton Keynes. The Inventory Planner is a pivotal role in managing inventory levels. You will be using your analytical skills to plan for the demands of our customers, produce forecast variance reports, working with suppliers including our subcontractors, raising purchase orders and taking appropriate actions to balance the supply chain in line with changing demand and meeting inventory targets.

The Inventory Planner will work with the Commodity Managers on process improvement, efficiencies and cost reduction through digitisation and effective inventory management working closely with the Commercial and Sales teams.

Your main duties will be:

  • Demand forecast aggregation & upload
  • Produce forecast variance report
  • Inventory Management; Line of balance review, Defer / cancellation, Purchase recommendations
  • Stock Initiatives – Nil Demand, Aged stock, Subcon
  • Inventory Management Tool maintenance & development initiatives
  • Bored Bar support
  • Subcontract order management
  • Supporting & Co-ordinating Global account data with other GCs
  • Non-workable sales resolution
  • Conbid management
  • Product range review (right-sizing)
  • Support Purchasing Systems Controller with PO management

Your profile

Essential experience, skills and knowledge:

  • Previous inventory planning experience
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Previous interaction with suppliers

Desirable experience, skills and knowledge:

  • Previous procurement experience/knowledge
  • Knowledge of using SAP ERP system
  • Experience in a manufacturing/engineering industry
  • Knowledge of raw materials / metallics
