About Commercial:

Our Commercial teams are responsible for sales, & business development; in other words, they keep our front line operations moving. Based in our sites and across the UK, they are the people who deal with our customers, who know our products, services and brands inside out, and who make the most of every available opportunity to add value and delight customers.

We have internal sales teams and external sales teams: Inside sales involves selling products and services remotely. This can take place using a variety of methods including phone calls, emails, video conferencing etc. External sales is where you sell products and services in person through face-to-face meetings, and other more traditional mediums and events.

Contractual Sales:

Our contractual sales team supplies a range materials and services, often with bespoke specifications, and ordered with an agreed call-off period.
As our external sales team, we are tasked to work with customers to identify opportunities for new business, as well as seeking out further opportunities to optimise the supply chain, reducing the amount of waste materials, shortening ever-shorter product life cycles, meeting the needs of niche markets, or involving end users in the value chain of our partners. These are just a few examples of what customer needs shape market demands.

Key Accounts:

The key account team is currently serving aerospace and defence customers and is divided into 3 segments, based on market – Engine & subsystems, Airframe & structure and Defence.

Transactional Sales:

The transactional sales stream is divided into two segments – Materials and Plate & Bar. The team predominantly covers day to day sales that involve little or no forward customer commitment.

Mild Steel Division:

The Mild Steel division operates on sales purely based upon the production capacity offered by our thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG mill in Germany, supplying steel stockholders and the yellow goods industry.
